Meet Albert
Rescued May 2004

Sweet Albert came from a puppy mill and was purchased at a puppy mill auction in southern MO. He has three sisters that came with him. Missy is one of them. The other two are Heidi Mae and Lilly, who can be found in the "Happy Endings" section of our website.

Albert was terrified. He was filthy and had teeth, which until they were cleaned, looked like an eight year old dog. He had some difficulties under anesthesia when neutering was attempted, so it was stopped. If he ever needs surgery again, his new family will need to let the vet know so he can have a special anesthetic. Other than that, he is in perfect health.

Albert has been with us for almost five months and is a fantastic dog. He loves to splash in water (he tries to swim in his water bowl), he snuggles, kisses you and does the "Affen dance". He comes when called, and other than an occasional accident, is housebroken. He has a black, hard coat and a stocky build. His weight is around 17 pounds, but he could afford to lose a couple of pounds. Like all puppy mill dogs, Albert eats fast and furiously, and has to be carefully monitored. You don't want to leave a bag of Cheeto's on the coffee table, or they will be gone....I speak from experience.

Albert loves all dogs. He and Murphy just run and run at top speed around the back yard. The only thing that stops him is a squirrel, which leads me to believe that he would not be good around cats. He will be fine with children 8 or above.

He is a loveable, friendly and gentle dog and will make a wonderful pet for someone. If you would like know more about Albert, please contact us. You won't be sorry.

UPDATE - Albert has been adopted!
