Meet Evie
Rescued 2007

Evie lrg picture 1

Allow me to introduce the vivacious little 10.5 pound redhead called Evie.  Until recently this adorable, 18 month old Affen girl had rarely, if ever, known human kindness.  However, it did not take her very long before she discovered that not only did humans give her good food and shelter, they also dished out treats, belly rubs and snuggly laps to snooze on. Evie has decided that humans are great and, she generously showers me with wet kisses on my nose and face to tell me so.

This Affen girl gets so excited to see me when I come home that, she literally jumps straight up on her back legs to a height of 2 1/2 to 3 feet!  It is hilarious to watch her jumping.  She looks for all the world like she is attached to a spring and bounces up and down on her back legs so fast and furious that sometimes I get worried that she might break one of her legs.  As soon as I pick her up, she is all over me with kisses.  Also, Evie dearly loves to sit on my lap while I work on the computer.  However, she is also content to snooze in her crate as long as she can see that I am still in the room.

Evie is a perfect little lady when I groom her.  She stands very still while I trim her beard and around her eyes and nose fan.  Anything you want to do to this little girl is A-O.K. with her just as long as you are giving her attention.  She soaks up your petting and belly rubs like a sponge and, she never tires of being doted over. In addition, Evie is the alpha female with her two sisters although she is smaller than they are.  While she doesn't pick fights with them, she will let them know in no uncertain terms when they step out of line.

Evie is completely crate trained and is doing very well on her house training.  She eats in her crate and sleeps in her crate for up to seven hours at night.  She also lets me know when it is time for me to wake up and take her outside to do her "business".  If I do not respond on the first couple of barks, she will start to scream so loudly that it sounds like a jet engine revving up for take off.  Nobody could sleep though that!

This redhead is all love and kisses with not an aggressive bone in her body. Evie will need a home where someone is home most of the time and willing to give her a lot of attention and love.  After all, she has a lot of love to give and, she has to make up for the first 18 months of her life when she had no one to give it to.

Evie has been adopted!!

Evie is living in the Dallas area. She is the star of the household and will have anything her heart desires. Her family lost a little red Affen to Cushings Disease a little over a year ago, and when they saw Evie, they couldn't wait to drive up to Oklahoma City. After talking with them about Evie not being a duplicate little Affen, they said that she has fit right in and isn't anything like her "brother". Even though they look alike, they said she is entirely different, and has settled into the family bed already.
