Meet JJ

JJ is a tiny 8 lb. cute as bug purebred Affenpinscher recently relinquished to rescue by a Missouri commercial breeding facility where he spent 8 years desperately craving human interaction and love. Despite his years of neglect and rejection, this little boy came into foster care with an amazingly up beat temperament and has immediately captured the hearts of everyone who has been given the privilege to meet him!

If a lap is available, JJ quickly finds it and snuggles up as closely as he can. If his foster mom moves about the house, JJ is right behind her. When she sits down, JJ is back in her lap. He's an itsy bitsy little guy who can easily fit comfortably in her lap almost unnoticed even as she sits at the computer writing this story about him.

JJ is also very smart! He has instinctively taken to walking on lead with his foster mom, always walking beside or behind her. When she stops, he stops, sits and looks up at her waiting for her next move. His behavior on lead would make one think he had once been a show dog. He's also a little gentleman in the car, and would be the perfect little companion on road trips. Once his halter is attached to the seat belt for safety, he immediately sits up perfectly straight, and is ready for his next big adventure!

JJ wants nothing more than to please and prove to everyone that he is a good boy! After just one week in foster care, JJ only had one poo accident. He wears a male belly wrap in the house, but by his 2nd week in foster care he has remained dry 24/7 so he may soon be able to go without it.

JJ has also proven to do well with children who are respectful of him. If they hold him gently, he's very eager to give and receive hugs and kisses! JJ even takes all the noise children make in stride. He loves everyone he meets and always put his best foot forward trying to make a good impression.

If JJ is in the company of other dogs, he definitely prefers females, probably because he played the role of "Romeo" during his years at the commercial breeding facility. JJ has been introduced to the household cat, who he is interested in, but has shown no aggression whatsoever.

He shares his foster Mom's bed at night and is always the perfect gentlemen who does not take up too much space as he snuggles as close to a warm body as he can possibly get. Sharing a nice warm bed with his favorite person must seem like heaven to JJ after all he's been through!

JJ is just about the most perfect little dog anyone could imagine sharing their life with! He would prefer a home where he is not left alone for long periods of time because he is very lonely without his favorite person nearby. As you can see in his pictures, JJ is also very handsome! Part of his Affen beard was trimmed after his release, but he has a wonderful thick, shiny, rough coat, so we are sure he will soon show off a beautiful beard!
