Meet Kermit
Rescued 2007

Kermit Large

Kermit is one of the friendliest and happiest little Affens you will ever meet!  At eight months of age and 14 pounds, Kermit is full of energy and playfulness and, he never meets a stranger.  He even likes my cats!  He never tires of trying to get the cats to play with him. Of course like most felines, they aren't exactly taken in by his puppy play bows.  He has also learned that a cat's wagging tail does not mean what a dog means when he wags his tail.

Kermit learned his name quickly and, he always comes racing across the yard to me when I call him.  He loves to play with the other dogs in the fenced back yard and would stay out there playing for hours if I would allow it.  He is also crate trained and goes to his crate when I tell him.  He has learned that the crate is where he eats and sleep and, he never fusses about it. In fact, when I say "Kermit, let's eat", he runs and gets in his crate as fast as he can.  He stands there peeking out at me as if to say, "O.K, I'm ready".  Kermit sleeps in his crate all night and, even though he is still a puppy, he has yet to have an accident in the crate. In addition, when I let him out of the crate in the mornings, he races for the back door to go outside to do his 'business'.  Of course, he is still a puppy and still occasionally has accidents in the house.  However, it is usually when I get busy in my home office and forget how much time has gone by.

This little Affen is very smart and, he has already learned several commands.  He plops his bottom on the floor when I say "Kermit, sit" (He knows a dried liver treat is coming up).  Kermit has also learned the "wait" command and reliably obeys it.  He stops dead in his tracks when I hold my palm up facing him and tell him to "wait".  He is a great candidate for obedience school and, now while he is still a puppy is the best time to take advantage of his eagerness to learn. Kermit is so eager to please his human that obedience seems to come naturally to him.

In addition to being a playful and affectionate Affen, Kermit has a gorgeous thick, black, wiry coat. His cape is coming in now and it is distinctively thicker than the coat on the rest of his body. He loves to be brushed and doesn't seem to mind at all when I trim around his eyes and nose fan.  Even when I clip his nails, Kermit just sits calmly in my lap and doesn't struggle like my own Affen does.

Although Kermit still has some maturing to do since he is still a puppy, he will probably not get much larger. He is going to grow up to be a beautiful, affectionate young man.

Kermit has been adopted!!
