Meet Murphy
Rescued May 2004

Murphy had a bad beginning in life. He was adopted by a woman from a backyard breeder for her little girls. Unfortunately, the girls stayed the same size and Murphy grew, and grew, and grew. They gave him to a friend who didn't want him and just tied him out in the yard. He was rescued by a neighbor who contacted Affenpinscher Rescue. He has fostered in southern TX for a while, where he was neutered, groomed and loved. He was full of mats, so he was cut pretty short. His hair is growing out now and he is going to be beautiful, with a very black, hard coat. His foster mother took a trip overseas so he came north to a temporary foster home, and is on his way to his permanent foster home in St. Louis.

If you love Affenpinschers and love medium sized dogs, then Murphy is the dog for you. He is a beautiful Affen who weighs 20 pounds and still has another three or four pounds to go. Murphy is what we lovingly call, a giant Affen. He has all the Affen traits, loveable, snuggle, lots of kisses and likes to sleep in bed, but will go in his crate willingly. He is just under a year old and loves to run and run like a puppy. It is necessary that Murphy goes into a home with other dogs. He is friendly and playful with them, and just loves to play and wrestle the dogs...all sizes. He is a gentle giant.

Murphy needs to go to a home with older children (7 and up) where there are no cats. He also needs a tall fence, preferably wood. He did climb a 4 foot chain link, but has been with me for six weeks and has not even attempted my 6 foot cedar fence. If you have other dogs, and would like a wonderful, loving boy who would be fantastic in agility, then Murphy is the dog for you.

UPDATE - Murphy has been adopted!
