My name is Ralph. I got lost last summer and ended up in a shelter in Wichita, Kansas. The shelter people noticed that I looked like I was part Affenpinscher and contacted Affenpinscher Rescue. After a few long car rides that were really fun, I came to live with my foster family near Chicago. I have a foster brother named Otto that I love to wrestle and play with. I have a big yard with lots of squirrels to chase. I can almost get them, but then they go over the fence and I have to stop. One day I'll get one though-I am sure of it.
My foster mom says I am very gentle and mellow. I really like to meet people and wag my tail when they talk to me. I like all the other dogs in my neighborhood too. I am very quiet and do not really like to bark very much. My foster family has a cat. She seems very snippy so I just ignore her. I love to sit by my foster mom and sleep in her bed with Otto. I also love to go for walks on my leash. I love to sit up. I can sit up tall and look out the patio door or out the front of the car. I also like to sit up when I want to go out or I want to have some of the yummy things my family is eating. I would love a forever family to love and snuggle.
Ralph is about 2 years old. He is very well socialized and gets along with everyone-people and animals. Ralph is perfectly house trained and knows basic commands. We think he is a mix of Affenpinscher and perhaps Lhasa Apso as his coat is longer and silkier than an Affen. Because he is a mix, the adoption fee has been reduced to $200. He is heartworm negative, neutered and up to date on all his shots.
Update: 2/2006 Ralph has been adopted!!
