Simon large 1

Simon is undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable Affens I have ever fostered!  He is extremely affectionate and loving. Maybe it is because there is more of him to give affection than most Affens.  Simon weighs in at 18.5 beautiful pounds at 7 months of age.  His coat is beautiful, hard and wiry.  In fact, Simon could pass for a "show" Affen if he were smaller.

As I said, Simon loves to be snuggled.  When I pick him up, he snuggles his face in the crook of my neck and gives my neck a soft little kiss.  Not only is he beautiful and loving, Simon is also very smart.  He is rapidly learning that he gets a treat only if he plops his bottom on the floor.  A gentle "Simon, Leave it" is all that is necessary to get him to stop chewing on some inappropriate item.  He has also started to go stand by the back door when he needs to go out to do his "business".  He hasn't had an accident in the house for quite some time now.

Simon is completely crate trained and never resists or cries when I say "Simon, crate".  He runs right in and lays down. Very often during the day I see him snoozing away in his crate (with the door open of course).  One of the things that really gets him excited is his squeaky bone.  He will sit for 20 or 30 minutes at a time squeaking his bone over and over.  It has become understood in this household that no other canine is to touch his squeaky bone!  He never fights another dog for it but since he is bigger than the other guys, He just walks up and snatches it away.
