Meet Sprout Rescued 2010

Hi! I am Sprout!  Sprout, is an approximately 4 year old, high energy Affen, who always wants to play.  Sprout is very smart, and learns quickly.  He is athletic, and would be great at agility.   He currently lives with his foster mom and dad in Aurora, Colorado.  Sprout gets along with all kinds of dogs and likes to go to the local dog park to socialize.  He currently lives with 4 other dogs and loves to play with them. Sprout has also been around cats and seems to like them just fine.   Sprout is a very affectionate Affen and loves to get attention. He settles down quite nicely after an appropriate amount of play. He walks well on a leash, is mostly housetrained, but does prefer to go out right after he has his meals. We recommend a dog obedience class to improve on his basic commands. An agility class would be lots of fun for him, too.

Sprout likes to chew on bones and chews. He would like a home that provides him with that kind of entertainment. He is a very curious dog and given the opportunity will search out any cookies or treats left in a dog reachable area. He can jump and climb, so making his living area safe so he cannot get into trouble is a must.

Sprout does well in a crate at night time, and he does fine out of the crate during the day, as long as he is in a dog proofed area. Being a spunky Affen, he needs plenty of exercise and ideally another active dog to play with and wrestle.  A yard full of squirrels to chase would be a big bonus for this little guy.  Sprout currently weighs about 12 pounds.  Sprout was rescued from the local shelter, and was quite malnourished, but he quickly has put back on weight now that he is fed regular meals. He loves meal time. He has a very sweet, intelligent face with an undocked tail that is always wagging. He also has a nice coat, that with regular grooming and baths, will keep him looking good.
