This little fellow is Stewie. Stewie is a high energy Affen who always wants to play. As he is very smart and athletic, he is an ideal candidate for agility. At only about one year old, Stewie can give the right family a lot of love. He loves his foster mom and dad but is very wary around their teenagers. Stewie gets along great with his foster brother Otto as well as lots of other neighborhood dogs who come over for playdates! Stewie is very affectionate and will snuggle on the couch and bound right up to give his mom and dad doggie kisses. Yes, Stewie is quite a kisser and is working on learning what "no lick" means. He walks well on a leash, is completely housetrained and loves to sleep in bed with his foster mom and dad.
Stewie does have a
fault. Stewie chews leather! He has gotten to a pair of
shoes in his foster home but since the teens now pick up their shoes
religiously, his foster mom says that it's not so bad. Stewie has
however chomped his foster family's leather sectional when bored and
unattended. For this reason, Stewie's forever home should not
have any leather furniture. He pretty much leaves everything else
alone, especially if provided with a supply of proper chewing materials
for dogs. Stewie does very well in a crate when his family leaves
the house but being a young and spunky Affenpinscher, he needs plenty
of exercise and ideally another active dog to play with and
wrestle. A yard full of squirrels to chase would be a big bonus
for this little guy. Stewie weighs about 14 pounds.
When he came into rescue from a puppy mill. he had some coat problems
which are all gone and his thick hard coat is coming in
beautifully. He has a very sweet face and an undocked tail that
never seems to stop wagging. If you'd like to learn more about
this happy little guy, please contact rescue coordinator Sarah.
Stewie is being fostered in the Chicago suburbs.
Stewie has been adopted. His new mom and dad live within 15 minutes of his foster family. He is enjoying his new home and family.
