Meet Vito
Rescued 2008

Vito large picture

Vito is such a happy little guy!  He weighs about 11 pounds. He loves people, loves running in the yard, and loves stuffed toys.  He thinks big dogs are all kinds of fun and amuses himself by running in and out between their legs after they've given up trying to catch him.  He's a smart boy too-respectful of other dog's treats and doesn't steal from another's dish.

Vito also enjoys playing in water and looks for puddles to splash in. Vito's joy is contagious and you can't help but smile just seeing how much he enjoys his life. Maybe he remembers how it used to be...

Vito has been abandoned twice, and he's not even two years old.  His original owner moved away, leaving Vito behind alone and locked in a crate.  The neighbor who discovered him took Vito in for a short time but decided not to keep him, accusing him of not being house trained.  That person was at least kind enough to take Vito to an animal control agency and that's when Affen Rescue stepped in with a commitment to give this little guy a life to love.

Vito was neutered and vaccinated, then delivered to his fun new foster home in South Bend, IN.  Some dogs might hold a grudge after being treated so poorly, but not Vito.  He loves meeting people and makes immediate eye contact, followed by a "happy to see you" wiggle. And if you'd like to hold and cuddle him, that's fine as well.  His foster Mom reports excellent progress with house training and describes Vito's personality as outgoing, agreeable, and charming but quiet.

Vito has been adopted. Vito has a new mom, dad, cat and an Affen brother, Guinness. He also has a new country. He went to Toronto today in a new red and black coat with a Canadian maple leaf on it.  His new name is going to be Winston, and is already romping and playing with his new brother.  His new parents already have signed him up for Doggy School.
